Our Core Values
Scouting is enjoyable and rewarding experience for youth and their families. The Scouting program is designed to guide the Scout through increasingly interesting and challenging levels. At each level Scouts will learn and reinforce skills while taking on increased responsibility within the troop.
We believe in…
Youth-Led Functions
Our scouts are responsible for the planning and execution of our meetings and our adventures together.
Adult Leadership for Guidance
As leaders, our philosophy is to guide and enable the members of the troop to learn and grow safely. Put simply, we teach the the scouts to lead themselves.
Right-Sized Adventure
Our unit camps all year round, with adventures near and far. We have a wide variety of activities for all skill and participation levels.
Scout Spirit
The Scout Oath and Law aren’t just words to us. We emphasize living them in all we do; that’s called Scout Sprit.
Scouts Learn By Doing Things Themselves
Scouts learn more when they are guided to do things themselves. Whether it’s making camp, making dinner, or making an epic gateway to a campsite, it’s scout-led.
Full or Part-Time
We get it. Our scouts all have other commitments like marching band, robotics, and sports. Participation in our troop is flexible and scouts get a lot out of the program while still being a part of other activities.
Be Prepared… the meaning of the motto is that a Scouts must prepare themselves by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that they are never taken by surprise.
– Lord Robert Baden-Powell
Meet Our Leaders
We are proud to have a team of dedicated and passionate leaders who are committed to creating an amazing scouting experience for every scout.

We camp and have adventures at least every month. In the summer (typically July), we have a week-long summer camp.
Most years, we also have a High Adventure trip open to scouts that are 13+ and of a certain rank and maturity. These include sailing in the Florida Keys, hiking in New Mexico, and white water rafting in West Virginia.
Scouting is open to all youth aged 11 to 17, but it may be open to your child if she is 10 depending on participation in Cub Scouts or entering the 6th grade.
No! Although we have many scouts that have graduated from Cub Scouts, we have just as many that joined us in 6th grade and beyond that had never participated in scouting before.
